“Intrepid teams will utilize Bangkok’s full range of transport options and set off with a budget for transport, their first instructions.
Navigating their way through uncharted territory, they will discover strange places and amazing sights and compete in local challenges with a traditional flavour. Along the way they will interact and negotiate with the locals to bring artifacts from their travels.”
- To improve communication within the team
- To practice planning, organisation and leadership skills
- To focus on team synergy and individual roles
- To get to know each other and have a fun and enjoyable time
- To manage time and complete team challenges together
The group will be divided into teams of up to ten participants. Each team will be provided with an envelope with route instructions for their first destination, and directions for the Amazing Race. Upon reaching the first destination, a new envelope with challenge information is handed to the team, so along the way they will compete in a series of task based challenges.
Challenges reflect the local flavour of the destination. Some may last for only a few minutes, others may be complex learning problems that keep teams working for up to an hour! In any case, they are always exciting and promise spectacular new experiences. Longer tasks include learning Muay Thai boxing skills, playing Thai music, preparing exotic Thai food or locating, negotiating for and buying a hard to find item. Other teams may try getting a Chinese horoscope, learning a monk’s chant, creating handicraft or putting on a Thai puppet show.
As they explore, the teams will get the chance to visit some of the most important and interesting sites around the City of Angels, including The Grand Palace, Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) Pak Klong Talad Flower Market, Chinatown, Limphini Park, the Royal Barge Museum, Wat Yannawa, and many more.
At each location, a challenge involves interaction with locals in a traditional cultural event or task. The execution of the challenges may be solo tasks (Road Blocks), group tasks (Speed Bumps) or multi-group tasks (intersections) and teams can move on after completing the challenge.
At various places during the race, teams will have to arrive at checkpoints. The last team at a checkpoint may be penalized with a speed bump or extra challenge before they can continue with the race. The winning team is the first team back at the final checkpoint.
Insurance and instructor supervision at all times is an important safety factor, and in the event of an emergency of team member withdrawal, transport and medical backup will be standing by.
Briefing for the Amazing Chase takes between 15 – 20 minutes and is normally done in the hotel conference room. We will explain the rules, the routes and the safety procedures, introduce the facilitators and hand out the teams travel funds, the maps and give the teams their first task envelope!
In the debriefing we’ll review the challenges and the answers to the questions that led to the locations and of course award the trophy for the winning team.
Starting with a four hour half day option, the Amazing Chase can be customized to a full day ,8 hour program of discovery and intrigue inclusive of cultural and activity challenges and have lunch at a fantastic setting reflecting your location.
