Participants from Telenor took part in a Market Barter Challenge activity organized by Making Teams Thailand on the morning of February 27th, 2019.
Location
The Market Barter Challenge was held at the Asiatique market on the river in downtown Bangkok.
Company/People
The team of approximately 18 from Telenor was comprised of delegates from various countries around the world.
Event Objectives
The goal for this event was to experience a slice of Thai culture and the excitement of Asiatique, with a focus on facing new challenges as a team, using thriftiness and haggling to the teams’ advantage.
Team Building Activities
Participants were put into 3 teams preselected by Telenor and sent to various parts of the floating market to complete a set of challenges. These challenges included purchasing a set of items from local purveyors using their Thai language skills, purchasing a set of cryptic items , and trying exotic fruits and foods that are on offer at different parts of the market. Teams were given points based on the completion of challenges, timeliness of completion and the amount of spending budget remaining at the end of the challenge.
